I first flew in a Strat back in 1951. Found out later that their safety record wasn't all that good. Lots of engine trouble.

I always thought it was funny how these looked as if they were part zeppelin.

A most "un-airworthy" aircraft that still managed to get in the air.... and people say there are no such thing as miracles!  GOOD SHOT!!!!

It's amazing what 4 engines and well designed wings can do,isn't it?

Size doesn't really make that much difference to making an aircraft fly. Large or small the same principle applies. So long as you have enough thrust to pull air over an aerodynamic surface large or efficient enough you can make pretty much any size of aircraft fly. Which is why you generally see more engines on a larger aircraft and a larger wing/tail area.

To be honest this aircraft is small compared with some aircraft that have flown. The B-36 peacemake for example.

The B36 Peacemaker, that's a monster. If you've been to the  Wright Patterson Airbase, home of the Air Force Museum, you'll be awed by the appearance of it.

Cool. I've forgotten what this was used for. Rocket assemblies?

NASA used them to ferry parts of the International Space Station among other duties, however this example was used by Airbus for ferrying aircraft parts.

Always loved the Super Guppy.  Also, always amazed it could get off the ground!  Looks like, if it were to make a bakn, it would fall over.
