She certainly has one of the most original colour schemes ever applied to an aircraft. Sadly she had to cut her display short as she was venting fuel quite significantly. It looked like she was trailing smoke at first but we found out later it was fuel.
I went both days, believe it or not despite getting a tad wet from time to time, Saturday was definitely the better day for weather. Yesterday it pretty much stayed grey all day, without any occasional appearance of the sun until right at the end of the show. Sadly Miss Demeanour had to cut her display short for some reason and it didn't take part in the Hunter formation, so you definitely chose the better day to go.
The Vulcan has always caused me trouble too. I am always at the wrong end of the airfield to capture a decent topside pass and like you say it always seems to display in dull weather. I'm not really one for chasing it round the country like some either, As much as I love the aircraft, to me it isn't the be all and end all of the airshow circuit. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw everybody heading to there cars after the Vulcan. The Hunters were my highlight. It isn't every day you see that many together.
I'm the same, I like the Vulcan but it seems like a huge waste of money to keep it flying. Every year they're short of cash but they hire BMWs to drive around in! they would be better of investing in some Harriers..
Flying Legends is the next Duxford show in July, and Flying Legends has a no jet policy as it is purely a warbird and historic show. However I believe this aircraft is booked for the show at the beginning of September. There are rumours flying about that it will be in formation with Team Viper who operates five other Hunters so we could be in for a great hunter segment of the show. Also there is already an F-15E demo and a french Akpha Jet so it is looking like a good show to attend.
