Hispano HA-1112 M1L Buchon

Description

Hispano HA-1112 M1L Buchon from the Air Fighter Academy, Germany at Flying Legends 2011.

She is currently undergoing modification at Meier Motors, also in Germany to convert her to Messerschmitt BF-109G-12 configuration. This will be a very interesting machine indeed, as for those not familiar with BF-109 variants, the G-12 was the twin stick training variant. The modification will not only add the second seat and extended canopy, but also a DB-605 engine. She won't be particularly pretty, but she will be an example of a type many thought would never fly again.

Great photograph. The 109 is by far one of my favorite planes from the time period (not to mention my signature aircraft in Warthunder).

That said, I really don't like the cowling look on the HA-1112; that lower bulge that the cowling has, where the cooling system for the oil goes, as well towards the rear of the nose where that massive two-stage supercharger of the Merlin's goes. I think it just ruins the sleek, otherwise nearly-conical look of the Bf-109's regular cowling for the DB-605.
