Little Nellie

Description

The Wallis WA-116 Agile was a British designed autogyro developed in the early 1960s by former Royal Air Force Wing Commander Ken Wallis. The aircraft was produced in a number of variants, but this very example was the most well known of them, especially to fans of Ian Flemming's most famous creation. Known as "Little Nellie" and flown by Wallis himself, she starred in the 1967 James Bond movie, "You only live twice".

Sadly due to the unrestricted access to this aircraft, there was no way of capturing an uncluttered image of her, so not the best image of her. It's nice to get close to the aircraft but as a photographer I personally prefer aircraft to be behind barriers at airshows for this very reason. However I thought her worthy of a record shot never the less.
