Messerschmitt ME109 G-2/Trop

This is Messerschmitt ME109 G-2 "Black Six" at the Royal Air Force Museum Hendon 2016. She was once the last original example of the type to remain in airworthy condition and from the early 90s up until 1997 she was a regular performer at UK airshows. Her fate was always to be eventually grounded but a landing accident at Duxford in October of 1997 sealed her fate. After rebuild she was placed in the Museum at Hendon where she has remained ever
since.

Since her grounding two early examples of the BF-109 have since become airworthy and a good few Spanish built Buchons have been retrofitted with DB engines, so the type lives on in airworthy form today.
