Messerschmitt Me-163B-1A Komet by Daniel-Wales-Images Messerschmitt Me-163B-1A Komet by Daniel-Wales-Images
Not the greatest photograph of it as this was taken a while ago and my skills were not as sharp as they are now. However this is a sight I never thought I'd ever see in the air. It may only be a replica glider, but it was still amazing to watch.

Thank God it was only a replica.  The fuel in those little buggers was so volatile you'd need a liability waiver just to get close to the damn thing.

Don't forget they had a tendency to go into a dive.

Indeed.  All-in-all it was a screaming little death trap, but a revolutionary screaming little death trap, nonetheless.

It is a nasty little bugger against the bombers during WW2.

Not really a pity, I really wouldn't want to be near that thing if it had the engine. A glider is perfectly good enough for me and more importantly not likley to explode. :D

Those Komets were prone to self destruct.

Without your photograph I would not have known this aircraft existed as a replica glider.
