Other than the CWH's Avro Lancaster in August, we in the UK are also due a couple more heavies from across the pond this year to take part in various events, those being a pair of Douglas C-47 Skytrain/Dakotas, one from Oxford, Connecticut and another from Geneseo, New York, which are coming over here to be part of the D-Day 70th Anniversary commemorations this spring. From what I gather it seems one of them arrived at Coventry yesterday after the flight across. That being the Tradewind Aviation example from Oxford, Connecticut. There is a photograph of her here in the UK at Coventry having just arrived.

I shall hopefully be seeing her at IWM Duxford on the 24th and 25th May, at the museum's D-Day airshow along with the New York example and three more from the UK. Looks like it's going to be a great show. Fingers crossed for decent weather. :)

The one from Geneseo is now on the way there.  I would love to be able to see the reenactments there.
